Are we seeing a market shift or are things starting to normalize to pre-pandemic numbers? Keller Williams has a market update that may surprise you. According to KW,
“By contrast, the 2019 breakdown was 47% of sales during the first half, and 53% in the second half – numbers that resemble the projected 2021 breakdown more closely. These swings in the year-over-year growth rate are actually reflective of last year’s market turbulence, and not great indicators of where the market is headed.” At Keller Williams, we believe that for the remaining months of 2021, we will see a housing market that is closer to the 2019 numbers. We continue to see a slight steady downshift in home sales as we move into the colder months, however, we will likely see our normal Spring increase again in 2022.
Below are infographics with actual numbers we saw in September 2021 from the California Association of Realtors®️. Although active listings and sales declined, 70% still believe it is a good time to sell.
